link building online is essential to help you boost your page ranking within search engines, this is carried out by a collection of link building services. One of these services is known as anchor text. If you’re not sure as to what anchor text is then it is basically the clickable text within the web content you are reading.
For example, if you were reading a blog or website relating to motorcycles, certain text would be highlighted. This text would have a HTML code attached, which is normally underlined, and when clicked on would take you to another page that may be of interest. This practice alone will help you build links to your website.
Of course as with all online practices this must be carried out with some online ethics. What this means is that search engines are only interested in content that is worthy of being viewed by people who use the services of a search engine, so if you were to have a page that was filled with nonsensical information surrounded by anchor text this wouldn’t do you any favours in relation to your page ranking.
The anchor text must compliment your content for a number of reasons. The first being that the rest of your article must employ keywords, another important factor of your page ranking. You also need to ensure that people remained interested in your content for the link to be clicked.
It is also worth noting that anchor text doesn’t always necessarily refer to text alone, you can also anchor images, this is carried out the same way anchor text would be, but with an image in place. So for example an article about motorcycles you could have a picture of a motorcycle with a link embedded inside it. This again would point to another page relevant to your content.
Another point is that you should only have one link to a page within your content. Why is this? Because search engines only notice the first lot of anchor text, so a second link is not only irrelevant to the search engines, but is also taking up time to build that is not required.
When deciding on anchor text it’s important to consider yourself from the browsers point of view, what would you be searching for if you were searching for your content, it is also important to consider other words that may used as a substitute to your keywords and try to include these where possible.
